Cain and Abel

The Pattern of God's Kingdom we see in Genesis 1-2 became the Perished Kingdom when our first parents rejected God's rule, alienating them - and us - from God's good and blessed presence. In Genesis 4, we see the sad consequences of this alienation in Cain and Abel, as the closeness with God their parents enjoyed is replaced by distance and cold formality. They could still approach God, but now only through an OFFERING and by FAITH. That hasn't changed.
